The healthcare industry used to be less vulnerable to globalization. Healthcare used to be delivered where purchased or where the patient lived. However, with rapid changes in technology, this has changed drastically in the last decade. Diagnostic results are now being sent across the globe for reading and analyzing. The globalization trend has even reached surgery. It is not uncommon for patients to travel to other countries for less expensive medical procedures.

On balance, do you think globalization of healthcare is good or bad for the U.S. and for the rest of the world? Why or why not? Explain your position.
