This paper needs to be 6-8 PAGES AS AGREED UPON IN CLASS WITH 3-4 SCHOLARLY REFERENCES (not including the cover page or reference page) and completed in APA format (6th edition).  This paper must include the following components:

  • Title page
  • Introduction

The introduction section of a paper is intended to provide the background information that is essential for the reader to understand the nature and scope of the problem you have selected and why you are researching the problem.  The introduction helps the reader better understand the focus of your research paper.  Key literature citations may be included in the introduction to reinforce the need for researching the proposed topic and build credibility for your proposed research.  The introduction is NOT intended to be exhaustive!  Maximum: 3 paragraphs.

  • Problem statement

The problem statement provides a brief description of a specific problem that you hope to resolve as a result of conducting your research.  It should be clear, concise, definitive, unambiguous and readily understood by anyone who reads it.  While you may find it difficult to adequately express your central problem so briefly, the underlying reason behind this approach is to force you to focus on the central problem you will be examining and express it clearly and concisely. Maximum: 1 paragraph.

  • Content/Analysis of issue(s) as it pertains to two of the three components of organizational behavior (I.e. culture, leadership & ethics).

In the main body of paper you want to focus on supporting your problem statement-think about why this problem exists, what has caused this issue and how it impacts two of the three components you have chosen (i.e. culture, leadership or ethics). Additionally, you also want to integrate information in from your own experiences as well as the text and at least 6 additional resources to further help provide examples and to substantiate your statements. Maximum: 4 pages in length.

  • Potential Solutions/Recommendations

In this section, you will discuss potential recommendations or solutions to your issue(s). It is not enough to just merely list solutions, you must explain why you chose the solution you did and how it will potentially help the issue(s). Maximum: one page in length.

  • Conclusion

The conclusion must be succinct and concise.  It should emphasize the significance of your problem statement and the issues you have discussed throughout the body of your paper. Maximum: 2 paragraphs in length.
