Family Law

  1. Research the divorce law in your state in reference to grounds for divorce. If you live in a state that does not have grounds for divorce (it is a no fault state), choose another state that has fault based divorce and do the presentation on that state.
  2. For each ground, list a defense that could be used.
  3. Create a PowerPoint presentation or use any other program where you can create a visual demonstration to explain to clients the grounds for divorce in your state, as well as examples of the defenses that might be used against each ground. Your PowerPoint presentation must be between 10-14 slides with references. If you do not have Powerpoint, you may use Word, you will have to use each page as a slide, using larger font and bullet points to visually show the client how the process works in your state. In a footnote section at the end of each page, you can use a note section where you expand on some of the bulleted points in the slides. In Word, the presentation must be 10-14 pages. If you do not know how to do a presentation, please look online as there are many resources with tips on creating visual aids.
